Tournament
Rules
1. This
tournament will be played to nine rounds from December 23rd to 29th, 2005,
according to the following schedule:
1st Rnd.: day 23,
5:00 PM.
2nd Rnd.: day 24,
10:00 AM.
3rd Rnd.: day 24,
4:00 PM.
4th Rnd.: day 26,
10:00 AM.
5th Rnd.: day 26,
4:00 PM.
6th Rnd.: day 27,
4:00 PM.
7th Rnd.: day 28,
10:00 AM.
8th Rnd.: day 28,
4:00 PM.
9th Rnd.: day 29,
4:00 PM.
2. The
tournament will be played according to Swiss System.
3. The
tournament will be played at Iruña Park Hotel.
4. The
rate of play will be 90 minutes for player for the whole game, with 30
aditional seconds for each move made.
5. The
initial ranking will be made according to the following criteria:
a) FIDE
rating,
b) title,
c) national
rating (FEDA or equivalent) or regional,
d) alphabetical
order.
6. The
double withdrawal of a player or a single unjustified withdrawal will cause the
elimination of the tournament. It will be ability of the Organization to
eliminate the player that withdraws to the first round.
Except the players invited by
the Organization, all the other will be able to request up to three byes,
communicating it in writing to the arbiters before the end of the previous
round. This bye will add ½ point. The byes in the last 2 rounds will disable
the receivers to get any prize.
7. During
the first round, the participants in the tournament will choose four players
that will be part of the Appeals Committee; two of those players will
substitute the holder players in those cases in wich they are implied.
8. All
complaint to a ruling of the arbiter will be given by writing to the Appeals
Committee and at most one hour after the end of the beat in which the fact
object of the complaint took place. The rulings of this Committee will be firm
to all the effects.
9. The
Appeals Committee will be integrated by:

Two regular players and two
substitutes.

The Tournament Director (substitute:
organizational representative).
·
The Tournament Director will act as
Chairman of this Committee.
10. Analysis
won't be allowed in the playing room. It will be permitted to carry them out,
once finished the game, in the analysis room. It won't be allowed to move to
the analysis room the games and clocks used for the dispute of the tournament.
11. The
players who intend to leave the playing room during their games to tell it to
some arbiter. It won't be allowed the players to get into the analysis room
during the playing of their games.
1. The
pairings, that will be carried out for computer means, will be published at
playing venue and on the web of the tournament (http://www.chesspamplona.com). The pairings for the first
round will be published after the Opening Ceremony.
2. Claimings
to the pairings will be assisted just in case the claimed game supposes:

registration fee will be paid to the organizers before the first round or in
its course and the player that didn't fulfill this requirement, could be
eliminated from the tournament.

tie-breaks to determine the final ranking will be:
The order of these approaches
will decide by means of a raffle carried out immediately after finishing the
last beat.

6. This
tournament will be governed by the present Rules, the Laws of the Chess and by the
current regulation of FIDE, rules to which all the players are subject during
the development of the tournament.
